I miss you, Monty

Monty was 9 years old.
He just went to sleep one night and never woke up.
Crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 1/12/08

Fric

Fric was my first rescue ferret.
He was insulinomic.  He had a seizure one night and crossed the bridge.
His cage mate Frac has a forever home with a new cage mate Slinky now.
Fric crossed the Rainbow Bridge 7/30/08

Asnia -  2/17/99 - 9/30/08

Asnia is a kitty cat who recently crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
She belonged to a good friend of mine and I wanted to honor her here.

Good Bye, Buddy

Buddy was a very loving ferret that Melissa Nelson rescued from a bad situation.  Poor Buddy would not eat and steadly went downhill no matter how much Melissa tried to feed him.  When taking Buddy to the vet she found that Buddy was 6+ years old and had a large mass in his abdomen.  At his age surgery was really not a choice so Melissa made the hardest choice and helped Buddy to cross the Rainbow Bridge into a better life without pain.
Buddy will be waiting for Melissa on the other side and will watch over her until then.  Buddy crossed the Rainbow Bridge 3/24/09.

Farewell, Ali-Gator

Ali-Gator was a foster Hospice ferret for HOFA.  She was adrenal along with being blind and deaf.  She was amazing running and playing as if nothing were wrong at all.  Ali-Gator was the sweetest furless ferret I ever met.
Ali-Gator touched many lives and will live on in many hearts.
4/2002 - 3/25/09

Farewell, Oopsie Daisy

Picture
SHD's Oopsie Daisy of JTA
crossed the Rainbow Bridge on April 1, 2009.
Oopsie, better known as The Mutt Queen, won many trophies and ribbons at shows in the Mutt Specialty Class.
She was the #1 Mutt Lady Ferret and also #1 in many of our hearts.  Oopsie may be gone but she will never be forgotten.

Goodbye, Happy.........

Picture
Happy was a part of an emergency rescue of 7 ferrets from a shelter in Cincinnati.  We met them half way between Columbus and Cincinnati so that we could care for these 7 fuzzys.  Since they didn't have names I decided, with a little help, to name them after the 7 dwarfs.  The characteristics were even looked up on the internet so that we could try and match each ferret to its dwarf.   That is how Happy became Happy.  She was the sweetest little ferret and one of the tiniest of these 7 rescues.  Melissa Nelson adopted Happy and gave her a forever home.  Happy had adrenal disease and it got the best of her in a short time.
Happy crossed the Rainbow Bridge in her sleep on 7/8/09.
She will be missed.

So long Nicodemus

Picture
Nicodemus was one of my Hospice ferrets.  He was 8 years old and along with being blind he was adrenal.  He was very sweet and loving.
He started going downhill late last week and today I had to make the decision that it was time for him to cross the bridge.  His quality of life was gone and he was in a lot of pain.  I love him so much but I had to let him go.
Nico, my friend, you will be missed !
Buddha Bless you on your trip across the Rainbow Bridge.

2001 - 7/14/2009

Fly Free Tori

Picture
Tori was a great bird.  I got her when she was only 6 wks old, that was about 11 1/2 years ago.  I know she was getting on in years but birds are supposed to live for a long time and I thought I had more years to have her around.
Recently when we moved it was just too much stress for my beautiful little bird and she passed only 45 minutes after she arrived to the new house.
I loved listening to her chirp and talk to the birds she heard outside.  I really miss hearing that happy noise.

Fly Free my sweet bird, you will be missed.

Farewell, Doc

Picture
Doc was a sweet little albino ferret who was a part of the 7 dwarfs emergency rescue.  Who knows what these 7 little fuzzys had been thru before we rescued them.  Now there are only 4 left - Dopey, Bashful, Sleepy and Sneezy.
Melissa gave Doc a forever home along with Happy, Dopey and Bashful.  Doc took sick all of a sudden and lost a lot of weight.  Although we tried to pull him back he decided he was ready to go play with Grumpy and Happy.
Doc crossed the Rainbow Bridge peacefully in his sleep, Tuesday, January 5, 2010.
He will always be remembered as the sweet little albino with something "funky" in his ear.
You have left an empty spot in our hearts.......................

Farewell Frodo

Picture
Frodo came to me as a foster with his cage mate Pippin.  He was insulinomic and adrenal.  I adopted the pair because I couldn't let them go.  When you have to give a fuzzy medicine and give them personal care you really get attached.  Close to the end Frodo was fighting taking his meds and wouldn't eat unless I held him.  When I went to get him to give him his meds and baby food this morning (2/15/10) he had already crossed the Rainbow Bridge, he had passed in his sleep.  Now he can run and play without meds or pain.
Pippin and I will miss him very much.
Goodbye Fro-dio-do-do!  You will not be forgotten....................................

Bye Woody................

Picture
Woody, like most of my ferrets, was a rescue.  He came from a college student who had moved into an apartment where he wasn't allowed to have ferrets.  Woody had a wonderful disposition and was a fighter to the end.  He had adrenal disease, like alot of pet store ferrets get, and I got him a melatonin implant.  Unfortunately Woody also had heart issues and gained alot of water weight.  He would give the best kisses when I got him out to play.  The morning of April 2, 2010 I got the best kisses ever.  When I got home from work that same evening I checked on Woody again to find that he had crossed the bridge.  I guess those were goodbye kisses.  I still feel his little tongue licking my cheek.  I miss him so much but now he is hopping, playing and dooking across the bridge with Frodo, Happy, Doc, Chimmi, Nicodemus, Oopsie Daisey, Buddy, Fric, Monty and Ali-gator.

Farewell Rocky.....................

Picture
Rocky, like many of my fuzzys was a rescue, he lived with Emma and Fritz.  He was 5 years old and just decided that he was tired and that it was time and crossed the bridge in his sleep.

Frita, Emma and I will miss him very much

RIP January 2011

Pippin has crossed the Bridge

Picture
Pippin crossed the Rainbow Bridge unexpectedly on September 15, 2011.  Now he and his best buddy Frodo are together again spooning on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.

I miss you both sooooooo much................

Picture

Merlin has crossed the Bridge..............

Picture
Merlin, the ferret who started it all, has crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
Merlin had started to lose his hair and show signs of adrenal and was slowing down.  He passed in his sleep September 16, 2011, he was a 9 year old pet store rescued ferret.  I try to find peace in knowing that the time he had with me he was happy and loved.

Dook in Peace Merlin, Mommy will miss you most of all........

So long Rufus............

Picture
Rufus was one of those ferrets who didn't get along with any other ferret but gave the BEST kisses to me.  Lovingly called Rufus Doofus he was always following me everywhere like a little shadow.
Rufus was a 5 1/2 year old pet store rescued ferret who will be missed very much.

Dook in peace little fuzzy - Sept 2011
